Josh and Trinity are expecting a little bundle of adorable baby boy in a few short weeks! It was great meeting them and learning more about them, their relationships and their future plans with the expectancy of this baby.

Trinity requested the maternity session take place at Wildwood metro park in Toledo Ohio which was completely fine with us! If you guys follow our blog at all you know we haven’t found a Toledo area metro park we don’t love.

With beautiful blue skies, a spring smelling breeze and a warm sun we walked around the grounds and hit some of our favorite spots like the stables and the manor house. Of course making sure we weren’t doing too much walking since we had a pregnant momma along for the walk.

A pregnancy is such an exciting time of life for a couple and we were so happy to get to document some maternity photography for them.

Josiah and Kaitlyn are married! They had an absolutely beautiful day to match their beautiful story.

The wedding took place at Hope Baptist church in Toledo Ohio where the couple exchanged rings and vows in the auditorium with a seated reception to follow on the church grounds. The beautiful a-line lace wedding gown with an intricate beaded belt was from our friends at Atlas Bridal. Most of the details of the day were DIY which creates such a personal touch to a wedding.

After the festivities at the church were done we headed to downtown Toledo with the bridal party and the happy couple to get some photos done. We started at the Toledo museum of Art (commonly referred to as the TMA) which was a beautiful backdrop for the red bridesmaids dresses and black suits. After that the bride and groom traveled with us to the docks to finish their portraits with the Toledo city scape in the background.

The entire day they were surrounded by friends and family as they celebrated this exciting chapter in their lives together.

Baby Luke was super sweet at his newborn session at our Toledo newborn photography studio. He’s just a little thing at only six pounds but he was so alert! He was awake for most of his session but still allowed for some adorable images.

It’s hard to believe it was a full three years ago I got to cuddle with Jackson at his newborn session. Jackson is already a great big brother. These little boys are bound to be best friends and they are so sweet.

Brittney and Howie have been together for more than 4 and a half years. It’s evident they are inexplicably happy together. Both Brittney and Howie knew exactly where they wanted to go for their spring engagement session which was Oak Openings. We frequent Oak Openings and are always happy to go back!

Although the drive to Oak Openings is a little bit of a hike to get to we love the grandeur of the expansive park. It was so cold that day the ground was ice covered in quite a few places but these two stuck it out to make some beautiful imagery. The engagement session started near the lake. From there we went to the iconic North West Ohio Spot which is one of our favorites.

These two are getting married in June at the Perrysburg Hilton Garden Inn. We are so excited to see these two tie the knot!

With Joe being out of town since we met with Brittany last June we’ve had to wait to do their engagement photo session. He finally was able to move back to Toledo so we were able to book the engagement shoot! They recently moved to Temperance so we took some photos outside of their residence. It’s exciting to document such a big time in their lives. These photos at their first place together will be looked back on fondly throughout the years I’m sure.

We also headed to downtown Sylvania to add some variety to their images. The scenery around Toledo during this time of year was pretty gray so a city scape was the perfect backdrop to add some color, texture and structure to their photos through various storefronts and alleys along main street.

Those black and white downtown images are some of my favorites! They have such a timeless feel which you all know we’re partial to here at Love is Greater Photography.

Come their July wedding the weather should be much warmer and we’ll have plenty of green grass and blue skies to work with!

I’ve been waiting for this cake smash session since Macie started to eat food..six months ago! She loves any food, all the food, just give her food. We knew when she had a delicious cake all to herself she would have a blast!

The inspiration behind her cake smash set came from a red poppy headband I came across while shopping at my favorite store. It was bright red with a navy center. Immediately, after purchasing the headband I went home and ordered a blue and white polka dot backdrop and some red and coral paper to make some fun large paper flowers. I love when I have a vision for photo shoot set up in my head before it comes together.

The first birthday session took place at my Toledo studio. Big sister got to watch TV and play with blocks while Macie posed for the camera. Afterward big sister was rewarded with cake for her good behavior too. Macie is so photogenic and her smile is contagious! I love love love photographing her because she’s a piece of cake – -pun intended. While most kids make me work for smiles, Macie thinks anything I do is funny. I leave the session less tired since I’m not squawking like a chicken, making funny noises, playing peek-a-boo, or dancing around like a yahoo. I’d photograph her any day!

An adventurous three year old.
A brand new puppy to love on.
Six chickens to chase around Perrysburg.
And plenty of cuddles and kisses to go around!

I’ve been loving lifestyle sessions recently! There’s something so genuine behind telling the story of a family at the home they share. For this session we used their beautiful home in Perrysburg Ohio as the perfect backdrop. This photo session was in honor of the newest member of the Greenleaf family, Huckleberry. He’s an adorable Aussiedoodle and is being welcomed into a family with plenty of love to go around! Huckleberry is one lucky pup to be brought into this family. Can’t wait to see more adventures of Huckleberry and Finn!

Of course we couldn’t forget the other pets of the family; the six chickens who were raised from the time they were just chicks!
