Birth photography is something I’m passionate about. It’s absolutely miraculous to watch these strong mommas and her support system as she brings a new baby into this world. The father couldn’t be at the birth so mom wanted to make sure she had a photographer there to document their birth story.

All day I had been in touch with this mom as she was at the hospital but labor was progressing slowly. At our last phone call around 6:30 she said she was only dialeted to 3cm and had been that way pretty much all day. I told her to keep me posted and to try to get some rest. A half hour later I got a call from mom and she was dialated to 9cm! Apparently, the doctors had her lay on her side for a few minutes and it really sped everything up. I dropped everything, grabbed my camera bag and made the 20 minute drive to Toledo hospital. I ran up to the birth and delivery floor, her mom pushed me in to the delivery room and the doctors were waiting on me to have her push. She gave two big pushes and a beautiful baby boy was born!
