Birthday’s are the best! Who wouldn’t love to run around all morning with balloons and toys being smiled and waved at, not to mention all the tickles! All to finish with a big ol’ cake you get to eat with your hands.

We photographed Oliver for his first year birthday at Wildwood Metro Park in Toledo Oh. He loved all of the attention from mom, dad and the new lady with the camera. And boy was he easy with his smiles which makes this photographer pretty happy. Such a cute baby!

Guys… go grab yourself a cup of something to cozy up with. Alright, you have your cup of Joe, or tea or whatever you fancy? Because this blog post is one that you’re going to want to spend some time looking through. Dean and Colleen planned so many sweet details for their romantic Toledo wedding at the Maumee Bay State Park Lodge.

This beautiful day was filled with perfect weather, love and laughter! When we arrived at Maumee Bay State Park to photograph the dress the wind was blowing off the water but we really couldn’t complain seeing as there wasn’t any rain! As we finished up getting ready we prepped for their first look.

We love first looks. For a few reasons but one of the best reasons is because our couples get a chance to really enjoy each other. Those few minutes where they are alone together, able to take a deep breath, talk about the upcoming ceremony is so special. It calms their nerves, we’re able to do most of the photos before the ceremony and then they can relax with their friends and family after they tie the knot.

We then headed to downtown Toledo for a few quick photos of the bride and groom. When it came time for the ceremony, many of Dean’s long distance family and friends couldn’t attend so they live streamed the whole thing! How awesome is technology these days?!

After a few more photos with family it was time to celebrate with dinner, desserts, toasts and dancing. Dean and Colleen had an absolutely wonderful day and we were honored to be there to document it for them!

Colleen and Dean are getting married this weekend! I wanted to get the photos back to them before the big day so I stayed up late working to finish them last night.

We met at Oak Openings to get their engagement photos done. Let me tell you though.. we had some challenges! We had rain in the forecast but with Toledo weather you never know so we headed out anyway. It was super humid and the mosquitos were so violent. I honestly had mosquitos in my car for three years afterwards! But Dean and Colleen pushed through with me and we made some beautiful imagery for them.

It was really cool that we found these blue flowers in a field at Oak Openings that bloomed at a vacation spot that Colleen visited with her family when she was younger. They were also excited to go to “The NW Ohio Spot” with me. Dean said the majestic trees reminded him of forests in Germany. While I’ve never visited, I guess I’ll have to take his word for it! I think they’d agree the mosquito bites were worth it!

I am SO excited for their Maumee Bay State Park wedding this Saturday. It’s gonna be a great day

This year we’re staying busy with photographing all sorts of portraits as well as weddings! This is Brody. He was welcomed by proud big sister, mom and dad.

His nursery was decorated in a nautical theme with navy and turquoise so I tried to incorporate a bit of that into their session. We spent the morning with energetic sister playing and exploring in the studio. She was a little apprehensive about getting her picture taken but in the end we made it work. Brody slept like an angel while we worked with big sister. By the time it was his turn he was wide awake. Such is life with two littles… am I right? I didn’t mind that I got to spend time getting extra cuddles from him. Eventually mom soothed him to sleep and we were able to get some cute sets in.
